MICROBIAL TECHNOLOGY describes the history and development of this discipline, concepts, and technologies involving microbes in different industrial activities. It emphasizes the role of microbial technologies in agriculture, environment, food and feed industries, medical, animal and aquaculture production and the role of microbes in genetic engineering. This course also explains the techniques in screening microbes, production of microbial metabolites and its used in different industries. Student will be exposed to microbial technologies and its impacts on society and economic importance.

NURSERY MANAGEMENT course is designed to equip students with knowledge and skills on principles and techniques to set up and manage plant nursery. Students will learn on plant breeding, propagation techniques and maintenance activities. Students also are exposed to commercialization of nursery product.

SYNOPSIS:
CROP PROTECTION will expose students to basic concepts of crop protection, crop pests and diseases control methods in agriculture field. This course also discusses on types, uses of pesticide and Integrated Pest Management in crop protection management.

ORGANIC FARMING covers the principles and practices of organic food production which emphasis on sustainable farming systems, pest and diseases control, organic standard and certification, socio-economic and marketing. Student will be able to differentiate between organic farming and conventional farming technique.

WASTE MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY course is designed to

DYA5043 FERMENTATION TECHNOLOGY (JUNE 2020)
FERMENTATION TECHNOLOGY introduces the fundamental aspect of fermentation
technology by looking at the development in this field. Emphasis will be given to its
application in producing products in agriculture, food and industries. This course will
discusses on solid-state fermentation, types of bioreactors, advantages and
disadvantages of different models of bioreactors, basic kinetics and operation of
bioreactors, media and substrate sources and up-scaling. The course covers the use
of bioreactors for microbial inoculants production, plant and animal cell culture and
production of other biological products.

DYA5012 AGRICULTURE PROJECT MANAGEMENT (DAG & DAQ) (JUNE 2020)
AGRICULTURE PROJECT MANAGEMENT equips knowledge and skills to plan and execute it towards a commercial project. Students will begin by preparing the proposal, develop operational programmed and finally present a report.

DYA6023 MECHANIZATION IN AGRICULTURE (JUNE 2020)
MECHANIZATION IN AGRICULTURE discusses on the advantages of using machineries in the modern agriculture in order to replace the conventional method. This course emphasizes on agriculture tractor system and the implementation of soil preparation by primary and secondary ploughing methods. It also discuss on planting equipment, fertilizer spreader equipment, crop protection equipment and harvesting machine. Lastly, this course provides knowledge on the water management aspects in optimizing the agriculture production yield.

DYQ20053 LIVE FEED CULTURE (JUNE 2020)
LIVE FEED CULTURE introduces students to the knowledge and skills in live feed preparation and culture technique. This topic focuses on both live feed groups of plankton (Zooplankton and Phytoplankton) which covered both outdoor and indoor culture activities. At the end of this chapter, students will be able to carry out live feed harvesting and storage activities.

FISH BIOLOGY discusses the biology of potential cultured fish species in Malaysia.
It focuses on the identification of cultured fish species based on the external and
internal morphology characteristics. This course also deals with the habitat preferences,

WATER QUALITY introduces the basic concept of understanding water quality management in aquaculture, as it relates to aquatic organism growth and health. It also emphasizes the aspects of water quality parameter, which determines the sustainability of water for aquaculture. It is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills of water analysis methods. It also exposes students to evaluate and analyze water quality data. This course also provides a practical hands-on approach to water quality analysis and management of water quality in different culture systems and hatchery.

DYQ20023 FISH DISEASE MANAGEMENT (JUNE 2020)
FISH DISEASE MANAGEMENT is designed to equip students with the knowledge
and understanding of the fish disease and its management in aquaculture. It deals with
the symptoms shown by infected fish, pathogenic disease mainly caused by bacteria,
parasites, viruses and fungi. It’s also cover the non-pathogenic problem that lead to fish
disease such as low water quality, nutrition imbalance, and improper handling. This
course also provides students with knowledge and skills in disease prevention,
treatment method, and chemicals handling.

GROW OUT CULTURE introduces the knowledge and skills for grow out culture
operations. This topic emphasized on grow out culture preparations, husbandry

AQUACULTURE PRACTICE II exposes a hands-on practical approach to students on conducting and managing grow out culture project. This course cover the proposal preparation, pond preparation, fry acclimation, stocking density, feed and feeding, daily monitoring on water quality, growth and health. It also requires student to carry out harvesting and marketing activities. Project evaluation will be made at the end of the project period.

course concentrates on the systematic methods of getting business ideas. This
course also prepares students on conducting online business using social media
marketing. It also emphasizes a preparation of business plan and developing their
entrepreneurial skills.

DBM10133 MATHEMATICS FOR TECHNOLOGY (JUNE 2020)
MATHEMATICS FOR TECHNOLOGY introduces students to fundamental
mathematics concepts such as basic algebra, geometry, measurement, function and
graph, and statistic. It provides a foundation for other courses in applied science and
agricultural science programs.

DUW10012 OCCUPATIONAL, SAFETY AND HEALTH (JUNE 2020)
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH course is designed to impart understanding of the self-regulatory concepts and provisions under the Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA). This course presents the responsibilities of workers in implementing and complying with the safety procedures at work. Understanding of notifications of accidents, dangerous occurrence, poisoning and diseases and liability for offences will be imparted upon students. This course will also provide an understanding of the key issues in OSH Management, Incident Prevention, Fire Safety, Hazard Identification Risk Control and Risk Assessment (HIRARC), Workplace Environment and Ergonomics and guide the students gradually into this multi-disciplinary science.
